About Us
Our History
Humble Beginnings Christian Academy was established to provide a transformative early literacy and math learning experience rooted in faith-based principles. Led by Director Sasha Simon, with over 20 years experience in childcare and more than six years in public education, the academy focuses on nurturing young minds. Ms. Simon’s expertise in curriculum development and educational leadership ensures a quality education for every child. HBCA fosters academic success, character development, and a deep connection to faith.

Our mission is to build a strong educational foundation by combining early literacy and math development with Christian principles, fostering a lifelong love of learning rooted in faith and academic excellence.
Our Programs
We have carefully designed our learning groups to provide age-appropriate instruction and care, ensuring that each child receives the support they need at every stage of development. Our structured learning groups are as follows:
- Little Sprouts (Infancy: 6 weeks - 1 year) – Focused on nurturing care, sensory exploration, and early social interactions in a warm and loving environment.
- Bright Buds (Toddlers: 12 months - 2 years) – Encouraging curiosity, early communication, and foundational motor skills through interactive play and guided activities.
- Early Explorers (Early Preschool: 2 years) – Introducing structured learning routines with a focus on early literacy, basic math concepts, and social-emotional development.
- Growing Minds (Preschool: 3 years) – Building language, problem-solving, and pre-reading skills while fostering independence and creativity.
- Pathfinders (Pre-Kindergarten: Must be 4 years old by Sept. 1st) – Preparing children for kindergarten readiness with an emphasis on phonics, early writing, and foundational math, all within a faith-based learning environment.
- Future Scholars (Kindergarten: Must be 5 years old by Sept. 1st) – Strengthening literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills, ensuring a smooth transition into elementary education while nurturing a strong moral and spiritual foundation.
Each group is designed to meet children where they are developmentally, providing individualized learning experiences that promote growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Enrichment Programs
🌱 Garden & Healthy Habits Initiative – Hands-on gardening experiences where children plant, nurture, and harvest fresh fruits and vegetables while learning about nutrition, healthy eating, and sustainability.
🗣️ Spanish Immersion – Engaging language activities that introduce children to basic Spanish vocabulary, songs, and conversations, fostering bilingual development from an early age.
🚌 Exciting Field Trips – Interactive learning beyond the classroom! Visits to museums, farms, science centers, and other enriching destinations that spark curiosity and real-world connections.
🔬 STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) – Fun and interactive experiments, building challenges, and creative problem-solving activities that inspire young innovators.
💻 Technology Exploration – Age-appropriate digital learning tools that introduce basic coding, problem-solving games, and interactive educational programs to build future-ready skills.
